Tree is gone… op session a go!

Thanks to the generosity of our members and supporters, the tree looming over our layout building was removed recently and operations can proceed forth safely! Our deepest appreciation for those who quickly sent in donations to take care of this unplanned cost. Our next Regular Monthly SACOM Meeting will be Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022 at … Read more

A trial in reality

November 1, 2021 marked our layout’s very first practice operating simulation, when we ran both the “Hurricane Turn” and the “Handley Turn” out of South Charleston, taking specific manifest cars from that yard to spot, both east and west.

This was the first step in discovering the many “fixes” that are needed in track, electrical, rolling stock and motive power. All were noted.

Just another Friday night…

Another Friday evening at our SACOM layout (7/2/21) brings together nine for model train operations, fellowship and fun.  Jack Fellure (center) traveled here from New Mexico – our farthest-traveled guest.  We meet here every Friday evening, alternating “Operating Fridays” and “Work Fridays.”  You’re welcome to join us for BOTH! Our layout depicts parts of C&O’s … Read more

And the WINNERS are…

Here are the winners of the 2020 C&O Modelers Weekend raffle. It surely wasn’t as much fun as our usual event finale, but we hope the winners enjoy their goodies and we thank everyone for the continued support of the Chesapeake and Ohio Modelers Weekend and the St. Albans C & O Modelers.
